Following Fascination
Dr. Surrendra Singh is the owner and principal dentist at Surrendra Singh Dentistry.
He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Waterloo. Always fascinated with research science, he went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Cell Biology and Metabolism, from McMaster University. As a graduate student, he developed a passion for understanding the intricate pathways of cell signal transduction and cellular communications and biotechnologies.
Dr. Singh earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario, with a deep interest in paediatric orthodontics and reconstructive prosthodontics. He purchased an existing family practice in his hometown of Kitchener-Waterloo.
How to redefine the dental experience
He developed his love and talent for paediatric dentistry during his first week of clinical practice. Faced with a roster of anxious paediatric patients Dr. Singh started on a mission to eliminate the fear of dentistry in his office, starting from the beginning, by creating amazing paediatric dental experiences. As a family dentist, Dr. Singh helped shape his dental clients' experiences at each recare visit and as the years progressed, these anxious patients began looking forward to their dental visits, thereby establishing better treatment outcomes and healthier patients. As these patients grew older, they developed a healthy relationship with dentistry and were self-empowered to care for their own oral health.
A new ally in the fight for the perfect bite
In his first year of practice, Dr. Singh met and became great friends with Dr. Kumie Pather, Orthodontist. As a graduate of The University of Michigan, studying under Dr. James McNamara, Dr. Pather’s non-extraction, maxillary expansion-based orthodontic treatment protocol significantly improved the health and well-being of Dr. Singh’s patients.
Drilling down deeper into dentistry
Dr. Singh’s health and fitness journey inspired a fascination with the relationship between airway and posture in the overall health of his dental patients and athletic performance. He was led to study Neuromuscular Dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies.
Recognizing the importance of Maxillary expansion to airway development, healthy occlusion, and beautiful Arc Smile cosmetics led him to study Dental Facial Orthopedics with Dr. Garcia and the International Straight Wire Orthopedics Group. Dr. Garcia is a strong proponent of the non-extraction, maxillary expansion philosophy of Dr. James MacNamara and with the passing of Dr. Pather, inspired Dr. Singh on his practice mission.
While at LVI, Dr. Singh studied under Dr. Bill Dickerson, Dr. Norman Thomas, Dr. Sam Kerani and Dr. Michael Miyasaki learning advanced techniques of Smile lift and Full Mouth Neuromuscular Reconstruction. By studying muscle EMGs Dr. Singh learned how to create a physiologically balanced bite that enhanced the patient’s overall health and well-being.
Currently, Dr. Singh is utilizing the iTERO Element 5D intraoral Plus, Digital Scanner as a powerful tool to integrate clear aligner therapies, like Invisalign and SLX aligner system, with Rapid Maxillary Expansion and the Carriere SLX 3D self-ligating fixed orthodontic treatment system. This treatment protocol has been extremely helpful as an option for conservative therapy of patients that suffer from bite disease associated with Neuromuscular Occlusal Disharmony.
Implanting new knowledge
Dr. Singh has received advanced training in Neuromuscular Implant Dentistry from the Las Vegas Institute; was invited to study Ankylos Implant Technologies as part of a Dentsply Sirona VIP program in Frankfurt Germany and recently completed comprehensive Implant training from the Ti-Max Institute for Implant studies.
He is currently pursuing accreditation in Botox therapies for pain management in TMJ/TMD program.
Dr. Singh has successfully implemented CAD/CAM technologies to make crowns in a single appointment for the last 10 years. With a newly renovated office, Dr. Singh is progressing towards using Lasers to replace drills for paediatric and adult dental fillings, and 3D printing dental appliances such as Night Guards, Retainers, Dentures, Crowns, and Bridges.

Dr. Singh has built an exceptional dental team built on his “Essence” philosophy where Leaders are empowered to create other leaders through mentorship and partnership. Using positive psychology, Dr. Singh is developing young people by building on strengths to develop weaknesses and create accountable strong leaders in his business and community.

Exceptional Air Quality for teams and patients has been a priority before COVID-19 changed the face of dental practices. Dr. Singh has installed Surgically Clean Air Units throughout his office which provides assurance and protection for his team throughout the pandemic.

Dr. Singh’s heritage can be traced back to South America and has a deep connection with Polynesia, Hawaii, and the Aloha Spirit. In his own words, “Everything we need to know we can learn from the Ocean.”
